360 Invictus to get open tail rotor

Bell has decided to switch from a ducted tail rotor design to an open tail rotor for its 360 Invictus helicopter that is competing in the U.S. Army’s Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft competition.

The test gathered data on safe separation and software integration of the JASSM-ER, and demonstrated the Eglin test range’s ability to monitor and control test items in flight over the Gulf of Mexico.

USAF RQ-4 Block 40 crashes
