Philippine Navy BRP Salvador Abcede PC-114 Set for Decommissioning in March 2021
Headquarters, Naval Forces Central – Commodore Ernesto O Baldovino PN led the send-off ceremony of BRP Salvador Abcede (PC114) in connection with its decommissioning ceremony which will be held on 01 March 2021 at Headquarters Philippine Fleet, Sangley Point, Cavite City.
BRP Salvador Abcede (PC-114) is a Tomas Batilo class fast attack craft that was commissioned with the Philippine Navy on 22 May 1996. It was transferred by the Korean government on 15 June 1995 and arrived in the Philippines in August 1995. It was later then upgraded under the Patrol Killer Medium-Republic of the Philippines (PKM-RP). In April 2016, it was reclassified as the patrol craft BRP Salvador Abcede (PC 114) in line with the Philippine Navy Standard Operating Procedures Nr 08.
Prior to the official send-off, CNFC conducted talk to troops and at the same time giving of the award to the sailors aboard the said vessel for their valuable services rendered while serving under the NFC’s area of responsibility.PC 114 is one of the many vessels of the PN set to be decommissioned partly to pave way for the new assets acquired by the Philippine Navy. The personnel will be utilized and train to handle the newly acquired assets of the organization.
